HTC Flyer in Pakistan

Over the last few years HTC has rapidly developed as one of the leading Smartphone manufacturers. They have over these past few years developed an enviable reputation for their creativity and smartly designs which have come with innovative headsets. The company launched a 7-inch HTC Flyer which has got all the tablet offerings and is not only unique but has given its users a device known as magic pen.

HARDWARE

Do not go on this Tablet’s first impression as it might seem to be a bit bulky. It weighs about 420 grams and looks heavier than Samsung galaxy Tab and iPad2. HTC might be heading upwards but there are certain things they really need to sort out such as the tricolor palette used in this particular device takes away the sophisticated look. Secondly the roughness around the edges may keep some buyers away while the second class nature of the magic pen is also questionable. But roughness is something which HTC keeps in their devices to give them a unique feeling unlike that of others.  However the major portion of the weight is the result of the aluminum wraps around the flyer’s edges and sides. Thumb typing on its software keyboard has a charm of its own and its orientation is an absolute dream.

Magic Pen

Magic pen is the real differentiation between any other tablet and HTC Flyer. It is aluminum made. The HTC flyer’s applications are dedicated to this pen and needs the user to use it in order to extract the maximum strength. If user decides to use this pen as a fast and loose accessory he is bound to be well rewarded. However HTC needs to step up the game by investing more time and money in the development of applications which need magic pen to be used.

SOFTWARE

Flyer’s software was developed keeping in mind that it was Android 2.3 which could fulfill the requirements. Though this decision may have taken Flyer a step closer to HTC Gingerbread but it is still with the best software output. Immature Honeycomb was the major reason why Android 3.1 was not used for HTC Flyer.

DISPLAY

It has got a Super LCD display which helps color fidelity at oblique angles. The flyer’s brightness, vibrancy and sharpness all fit well in place. The users have even liked it display in natural light and have given positive feedback about its outside usability. There are no kinds of flaws yet been detect in its display whether it’s the touch screen sensitivity defects, improper color reproduction or inconsistent back light. You even get 1024 *600 pixels to play with given the size of flyer.

BATTERY LIFE

Its battery life is one of the best in the business. For a 3G device it has a spectacular performance. However when its camera was used it ate its battery at a greater rate and is one of the major consumer of its energy. When its locked this tablet automatically goes to the sleep mode and shuts down the wireless radio.

CAMERA

Its camera is one of the biggest setbacks as the image it captured under ideal conditions was blurry and blotchy. 5 megapixel might be a little to many for the sensor to fill. The front camera is also not up to the mark and was disappointing when put to test. Though it can record videos of 720p but the softness present in it is quite evident.

  • 5 megapixel color camera with audio focus
  • 1.3 megapixel front camera

UNDERLINE

It is a gadget over which one is licensed to drool. It is in short a well tough out device which offers its buyers a complete package. It is a totally different device with its magic pen inclusion, robust aluminum construction and a pretty responsive user interface.
